AKJ Architects was founded in 2007 by Arlene Kisiel-Jermann.

Arlene Kisiel-Jermann, principal, licensed architect, certified
interior designer and experienced construction project manager brings twenty years of varied experience to her architecture and interior design company. Prior to founding the company, she brought with her design experience from residential, commercial and healthcare design firms located in Philadelphia, Boston & Seattle. Two Seattle design firms that she worked for include Sullivan Conard Architects where she worked as an associate architect and NBBJ where she was an project manager, medical planner & designer. At Sullivan Conard Architects Arlene was introduced to high-end residential architecture and found her niche working on new and renovated homes ranging in size from 5,000SF to 8,000SF. Most recently, Arlene dedicated three years to learning about the construction side of the high-end residential market as a project manager for Toth Construction of Seattle. At Toth, she managed budgets ranging from $100K to $2.5M and schedules ranging from four months to eighteen months. As an professional who strives to provide exceptional customer service, design skills and an eye for detail, AKJ Architects has the experience and training to lead you from the project’s conceptualization to completion.
Arlene received her Master in Architecture Degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997 where she coupled her design education with electives at the Sloan School of Management. She received her Master in Science in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts in 1988 and her Bachelor in Science degree from Skidmore College in 1985 where she majored in Art and minored in Spanish. Her academic studies in art, interior design, architecture and Spanish have provided numerous opportunities for worldwide travel throughout America, Europe and Asia.
