BOXWOOD

THE PROCESS THAT BOXWOOD USES allows us to approach any new project type with the certainty that we will discover a unique and creative solution in collaboration with our clients. Boxwood begins with a client charrette to establish goal hierarchy and an overall vision. A whole office charrette follows, allowing us to explore many ideas, influenced by individual experiences and backgrounds, in a single day. Multiple conceptual solutions emerge and are presented to our clients. The broad base that is established in a short period of time creates a strong foundation for all subsequent phases. Each year we select a design overlay that we will research, study intensely and utilize wherever possible in our work. The goal is to become so comfortable with the subject that we can easily incorporate it into each project. Our current design overlay is Biomimicry - the conscious emulation of nature's genius. By exploring nature's designs and applying those solutions to our own, our work becomes more intuitive and inherently more sustainable. Through daily use, the overlay gradually becomes part of our design subconscious finding is way into our client's projects, naturally and effectively. Every year brings a new overlay, a new learning curve, a new excitement to our work and another way to enrich our design solutions.
